Thank you for the music…

January 3rd, 2006

Tonight we went to see Mamma Mia. If you like music that tells a story, this musical is for you. With entertaining performances by the cast and great sounding music this musical will have you tapping your feet and clapping your hands.

Don’t miss this musical if you have the opportunity to see it.

Live Long and Prosper!

Today we went to the Star Trek Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton hotel. We took the behind the scenes tour and learned all the secrets of how they do their really cool show. We were sworn to secrecy so I can’t tell you how they did it… (well at least not without some drinks in me).

One thing we learn was that Marina Sirtis came to the experience and sat in her chair through several performances of the show. She stayed in character throughout the performances.

We also rode the new Borg encounter. It was pretty good, but just not as good as the Klingon encounter. We had drinks at Quark’s. We say a huge drink. It’s called a Warp Core Breach. It has 20 oz of alcohol in it.

I also added to my collection of tribbles and got an updated copy of the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition.

A day on the strip.

January 2nd, 2006

Well we headed over to the coke-bottle today. This is where you can buy 2 for 1 movie tickets.
Nothing good (or at least what we have not seen already) was being offered.

We shopped instead. I bought a new shirt and Angie got a sweatshirt. We purchased a Vanilla Coke float, and waited for Trevor and Kerry. We walked around the strip for a while. Pretty much the boring usual stuff.

That evening we went and saw Le Reve. This was a totally awesome show. If you see only one Dragone production in Vegas, make sure it is this one. Warning! The first three rows will get wet.

How many hands of poker can you play?

January 2nd, 2006

I think we found our newest favorite machine. The hotel had a draw poker machine that you can play up to 100 hands. It only costs 1 to 5 cents per hand. So playing 5 cents is a 5 dollar bet. You have to play with a completely different strategy. Both Angie and I did pretty well on this machine. I think we made about $75 playing.

I wish I was a Klingon, A vulcan, a Q or an Andorian!

January 1st, 2006

We had dinner with Trevor and Kerry. They brought me a bottle of Klingon blood wine 😉

The bottle was autographed by non-other than Ambassador K’Ehleyr.

The only actress to appear as 4 different aliens in 3 different “Star Trek” series: Vulcan `Lt. Selar’ and Klingon `K’Ehleyr’ on “Star Trek: The Next Generation” (1987), the female ‘Q’ on “Star Trek: Voyager” (1995) and `Tarah’, the first female Andorian on “Enterprise” (2001).
