What stands out in your past?

April 23rd, 2006

I was going through old papers and magazines and I ran across some ads for some services that seem very trendy and that got me thinking about the things we used to do in the past that were trendy.

The one that stands out for the 1990’s is “Murder Mystery” parties. They seem pretty geeky now, but I recall going and planning at least a half a dozen of them. I can’t complain to much as that is how I met my now wife. 😀

What other things can you remember about your past that seem to define the things we did back then?

What’s going on with their fielding?

April 23rd, 2006

So todays game was one of those that you are glad you had some good offense. On two separate plays Greene didn’t cover his position.

The first time lead to a run because there was nobody to throw the ball to to prevent the runner from coming in from third.

The second led to the runner getting a double instead of a single. If he would have been on the bag, they could have thrown him out going to second.

When all said and done they did win the game, and that is what matters. Hopefully they will get back to the basics and stop making rookie mistakes.

It’s just one of those nights.

Well the padres got an old fashion whooping today. They were out played on all fronts tonight. Guess that’s why they play 162 games a year.

And to add insult to injury Bonds got his 1st home run tonight.

I thought that was supposed to be an easy ride?

April 22nd, 2006

So I rode the 56 bike path today, about seven miles each way. There are two really good hills along the way. Although the second hill about kicked my butt. I had to stop at the end and catch my breath.

We met two riders that may join our team. I need to remember to keep business cards and ride postcards in my pack.

At least now I feel like I am back in the swing of things for training.

padres wins!

April 21st, 2006

It was a 14 inning battle! But the padres pulled out a 2-1 victory.

And to top it off, bonds went 0-2 tonight and they lost to the rockies.

All in all it was a good night.
