As some of you may know I have been trying to repair a WD 500gig drive. Today I tried and look up the warranty so that I can return it for repair. Apparently they now only offer 1 year warranties. The last time I purchased drives they came with a 3-5 year warranty.
I guess this is the sign of the times. Make sure you pay attention to those warranties prior to buying the cheapest drive on the market.
This has been in place for about 7 years now.
The enterprise drives do come w/ the extended 5 years. Others do too, but you have to look.
