Our new ten-thousand square foot data center is almost ready and we have a big downtime now set for Dec 28th. Things are coming together.

This data center is pretty amazing, but if I told you about it we might have to kill ya 😉

Gwen Stefani is Super Kawaii

Angie and I went to the first concert in a long time. I think the last one was U2 at Jack Murphy stadium. We left work early and drove up to Anaheim. We ate dinner then went to the concert.

The first thing I noticed right away was that they allowed cameras and cell phones into the concert. I remember a time when you would get bounce on your ear for having a camera. We had tickets on the floor. The opening act was MIA. The group was made up of two girls and a DJ. Their music was a bit of rap to an African/jungle beat. They were from Sri Lanka.

In the arena, they had two video screens. They encouraged people to use their cell phones to take photos and send them to their web site, as well as text messages to the screen. During the intermission they displayed all of the text messages. This service was a very ingenious idea on their part.

The concert was amazing. Gwen played every song from the album and two songs we had not heard before. Every song had a costume change. Angie’s favorite was the long silver dress she wore when she sang Luxurious.

During the concert we found out they were filming for the DVD soon to come out. She is originally from Anaheim, so this concert was her coming home. I am not sure she played in Anaheim when she toured with No Doubt.

It was a fun night! If you don’t have the album yet, run, don’t walk and get yourself a copy.

’tis the season…

Well decorating time is here. This year will be bigger and better than ever.
I had friends this year to help unpack and setup, so things went smoother.

Tossed a gallon of apple cider on the stove to keep us nice and warm while we unpacked. This is the first year I remember it being this cold right after thanksgiving.

Got most of the outside lights up. Three sections of the icicle lights are out, so I have to go back and find the burned out bulbs. Inside, we got as far as putting up the tree. I need to finish reshaping it, then we can start trimming it.

Mac printing sucks

Sunday, November 27th, 2005

Ok, this really bites. I have an Epson R300 cd printer and it’s supposed to work perfectly with the mac.

1) I had to upgrade to tiger to get it to work and be seen.
2) Image printing took me forever to figure out how to print a 4×6 image, and it still didn’t fill up the entire paper.
3) completely failed to print to a cd.

CD printing required me to set paper to A4, and then tell it to manual feed. Why would I need to do that when there is a cd-paper size and a print-to-cd feed option? I guess I am going to have to make a call into Epson next week or just return the printer. I wonder if I still return it after having it for 6 months? Although I only printed to it once.

Anyone that has printed to an Epson from a mac that has some insite, it would be greatly appreaciated.
