white makes blue?

March 25th, 2006

We are pretty close to deciding on the surface materials for the pool.

We definitely want Pebble Sheen

The color we are leaning towards is Cool Blue

Cool Blue

Who knew that the lighter the bottom color the bluer the water will be. The nice thing is it has the look of Pebble Tec, but is not rough.

It’s a plot I tell ya!

So it appears there is only ONE company in all of San Diego that sells pool tiles and they are only open in the weekday and a few hours on sat. Times at which normal people sleep in until 😉

Our pool re-modeling company gave us a catalog for National Pool Tile Group

I stumbled out of bed this morning and headed over to grab samples of tiles. It looks like we are leaning towards the Portofino You can not tell how good it looks on the web site.

We want to go with a tile that is pretty earth-toned and that is close to the color of the coping we decide to put in place.

A New Pool for the Summer

March 25th, 2006

So the goal is to get the pool redone by this summer. The things we are planning to do:

1) resurface the pool
2) replace the old style spanish tile
3) Tear up the coping and deck
4) Lower the ground around the spa to be flush with the existing deck
5) install new decking and coping
6) Rip out all lighting and install new modern lights
7) add a step in the spa for easier access
8) replace the skimmer
9) install a vacuum pipe
10) redo all the plumbing (bigger pipes) and move the values
11) install equipment automation
12) Install a chlorine generation system

I think that is everything….

Oh yea, Convince Angie we need to re-add the dolphin mosaic back into the pool.

Back From the Dead

March 25th, 2006

Well I am on the road to recovery. I have been sick all week. I never knew how much your body can store, because all of the crud that came out of me sure as heck didn’t go in me over the previous two days.

So I ventured out today to return my broken printer. It has not worked from day one. I was reminded of this fact when Best Buy mailed me a renewal for the extended warranty. So I figured, “hell” let them fix it. After waiting in line for 30 minutes, I finally got my claim check and I might get a fixed printer in 3 weeks. We will see. I bought this printer to print on CD/DVD media. I learned today about Laser Scribing. CD/DVD burners that will actually put the image on the DISK. The problem is that there is no device that supports the Mac that I have found so far.

10 point tile

March 17th, 2006

So I re-filed my DVD movies today and I just realized I have no movies that start with a Q. I can actually only think of one movie that even starts with a Q. Queen of the Damned
