Protect yourself, or at least know what is going on.

With all of the stuff going on about privacy and phone home apps, I finally decided I need to install monitoring software and find out what my systems are REALLY doing. I am pretty good about not installing software from untrusted sources. With the recent issues with Apple and Sony, I found a decent tool called Little Snitch

There are serious reports of spyware being installed by Apple’s new itunes software.

In this article, they state that Apple is serious about your privacy. This is the same company that had a EULA that said anything you uploaded to their website via .mac became their property and you could see vacation slides end up in the next Apple commercial without your permission or owed royalties.

It’s crap like this that make me want to go slap someone. Some developer in the back room is making these decisions without review or legal analysis. This is why open source software should be all you support or buy. At least then we can review the source code and find this sort of stuff.

Do my eyes deceive me?

Apple is now promoting their new Intel laptop.

The price is good, but I will be damned if I am going to buy all my software for a third time. If this platform is going to be successful, it will need to be able to run all OSX software.

Here is a chance to make history!
