Back From the Dead

Saturday, March 25th, 2006

Well I am on the road to recovery. I have been sick all week. I never knew how much your body can store, because all of the crud that came out of me sure as heck didn’t go in me over the previous two days.

So I ventured out today to return my broken printer. It has not worked from day one. I was reminded of this fact when Best Buy mailed me a renewal for the extended warranty. So I figured, “hell” let them fix it. After waiting in line for 30 minutes, I finally got my claim check and I might get a fixed printer in 3 weeks. We will see. I bought this printer to print on CD/DVD media. I learned today about Laser Scribing. CD/DVD burners that will actually put the image on the DISK. The problem is that there is no device that supports the Mac that I have found so far.

Your went where?

So I have been searching for some gps tracking sites and found this site: Bones In Motion

It lets you record your GPS data on your phone then upload it. I created a simple blog for my last ride I did on sunday. You can view it at:

Audio Sync Update

Monday, March 6th, 2006

So here is an update on my audio woes.

I found that if I removed the HDMI cables from my HD-PVR, then the fiber audio would kick in to 5.1.

I was able to re-sync the audio with the HDMI cable plugged into the TV and then send the fiber out from the tv to the receiver. This solved the sync problem but I can’t get true 5.1. I can get PCM, but not true 3/2.

I have to return the HD-PVR because of issues with the unit

More details as they come.

Huh? Hello? Can you hear me now?

Now if I only had a cone of silence… How to block a cell signal.

Ok, I just came to a realization tonight when I went to the grocery store. I was listening to TWIT podcast and when I turned off the engine, I thought “Why didn’t I take it into the store with me and listed to the rest of the episode?”

Then I realized that I never listen to my Ipod unless I am riding. I always plug it into a device. At home it’s an IHome, in the car it’s my alpine stereo, and at work it’s the Altec Lansing portable speakers.

I wonder why I even bought headphones.
