It’s just one of those nights.

Saturday, April 22nd, 2006

Well the padres got an old fashion whooping today. They were out played on all fronts tonight. Guess that’s why they play 162 games a year.

And to add insult to injury Bonds got his 1st home run tonight.

padres wins!

Friday, April 21st, 2006

It was a 14 inning battle! But the padres pulled out a 2-1 victory.

And to top it off, bonds went 0-2 tonight and they lost to the rockies.

All in all it was a good night.

The Fireman gets his first call.

Well it was touch and go there in the bottom of the 9th in today’s game. Trevor Hoffman didn’t give up a run to earn his first save of the 2006 season. Although the padres are 4 games below .500, it is still a promising season.

So far the only thing I see is that some of these players need to learn to talk when they are in the field. There have been four collisions in the last few games that could have been avoided with a simple YELL of “I’ve got it”.

I still am “Keeping the Faith” that this will be an exciting year. And this stat is keeping me very happy:

Barry Bonds to date:
SEASON TEAM G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB CS OBP SLG AVG
2006 San Francisco Giants 8 21 4 4 2 0 0 1 6 10 2 0 0 .469 .286 .190

So much for a pitchers duel.

Well tonight was not what you would call a pitchers duel. It was pretty good in the first 5 innings, but after that it was hit after hit. Oh well! You have to expect that every once in a while.

Poor baby…

Well although the padres lost last night, it was a good night.

Cry baby Barry Bonds was hit in his first at bat. He even leaned into the pitch. I guess that’s the only way he can get on base.

In todays game, he walked twice, struck out and didn’t hit the ball out of the infield.
