We checked out of the hotel. We were asked yet again to fill out a comment card. This was getting really ridiculous. Do people not realize good service is something we are supposed to get no matter what? It's the great service that get's rewarded! I think the next time this happens to me, I am going to have to do something about it.
We walked around the city looking for a place to eat. We ended up at Schilo's deli. It is a German style deli. The food was good. The restraunt was pretty empty, but there where a ton of workers there. We asked about it and was told that they were supposed to have about 150 kids from an elementry school coming for breakfast. Only problem was they never showed up.
After breakfast it was time for Angie to get her souvenirs. We headed over to the Alamo again. We then went to see some of the IMAX shows we missed. We watched: Alaska and Alamo: The Price of Freedom. We had seen a number of the scenes in the Shamu show at Sea World from the show Alaska.
Alamo: The Price of Freedom was very good. It was a living history lesson. I really wish they had done more things like this in school when I was growing up. We never really learned about our California heritage. Everything I really learned was pretty much on my own. Again, a sad comentary on our public schools.
After the movies we headed back to the hotel and had drinks
and appetizers at La Ibiza. Time to say our final farewells to
San Antonio and drove to the airport for the flight home.
