Day 3 - Monday, May 3rd, 1999

We slept in until 11:00 since we were pretty tired from last night. We had been up about 18 hours. We don't normally eat that late. We went to Murray's for brunch. It was a traditional Jewish deli. The food was excellent. It was just as good as Samson's Deli back in San Diego. After we stuffed ourselves, we went to the beach to lay out.

The water was too rough to swim in, so we couldn't go swimming. After about an hour we headed over to the Beach Towers and played in the lazy river. We went around a few times and then headed over to the Royal Towers.

It was time to check out some of the water slides. We went down the serpent slide a couple of times. This is a water slide you ride on innertubes. When you get to the bottom you end up in a tunnel under the lagoon. You can look left, right, up and down and see all the sea life. There are four sections in the tunnel. You get stuck in each one until the next rider comes down. Their wake pushes you into the next section. Here are some pictures of our ride down.

After the serpent ride, we went down the corkscrew slide. This slide goes round and round, and then at the last second turns the other way so you can get airborne, then down into the pool. After riding that slide we went to go sit by the pool and had some drinks. It doesn't get much better then laying by the pool sipping tropical drinks while listening to a live band.

We went back to the room and took a short nap. We then went down to the docks and took a sunset cruise on a catamaran. The docks were about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. On the cruise they provided us with hors d'oeuvre so we didn't pass out from hunger. We hadn't eaten since Murray's around noon. They also had drinks so we popped down a couple sodas. We got some really good views of the hotel and other landmarks around the islands. The view at sunset was great and we got some really good shots. We sat in the canvas of the boat, and watched the sunset. The catamaran hoisted sail and we headed into the sunset. After the sun was down we headed back into port. All in all, it was a very relaxing cruise. I recommend it for anyone that is thinking of something to do in the evening.

Here are some pictures from the cruise:

We returned to the hotel and went to dinner at SeaGrapes. It is one of the restaurants that is all you can eat. The food was really good, the pepper steak was the best. They had all sorts of desserts, so I had to try them all. The strawberry cheesecake was the best. After our dinner we went back to the casino and deposited our daily sacrifice. We then headed back to the room. The next day will be a busy one plus an early one.
