Steve & Angie's Anniversary trip
Paradise Island, Bahamas
Day 1 - Saturday, May 1st
We left San Diego about 11:45. Arrived in
Dallas-Ft Worth for a 1.5-hour layover. We then arrived in Ft. Lauderdale
at the Airport Hilton around 22:30. Stupid Steve waited until the
last night to get a room for this evening! Fortunately there was
room at the Inn! Both of us were starving so we went downstairs to the
restaurant to eat. We ordered two onion soups and a plate of pork
ribs. Ok, now I am pretty easy going on vacation, but we waited almost
20 minutes for our soup and then 45 minutes went by and no food!
I was both mad and shocked that service like this was found at a Hilton.
At least after complaining to the manager we finally got our food,
and she took it off the bill. Anyway time for a letter to Mr. Hilton.
BTW, their ice tea is pre-sweetened, so after adding the reflexive two
sugar packets, I had tea-syrup! So, you have been warned. We both
now always taste our tea before we put sugar in it.
We hit the hay about midnight. We had an early morning flight
the next morning.
