Steve got dressed and went up on deck to take video of the glacier. The sound and peacefulness of the glacier was fantastic. I saw a number of calvings. The thunderous sound is powerful as it precedes the ice breaking of and falling into the bay. Steve finally gave up anticipating where they would break, and just waited for the sound of the thunder and then pointed the camera that direction.
Steve came back to the cabin and Angie was still asleep. He went to eat breakfast. The Rotterdam dining room was open for breakfast so Steve went there. I think this was the only time he ate there. It was not open that long. For breakfast he had Eggs Benedict without the hollandaise sauce. (Still trying to be good).
Steve went back to the cabin and Angie was up and about. Angie went to get breakfast and Steve was tired and went back to sleep. Angie came back from breakfast, but Steve was still tired. We both decided to take a longer nap.
The ship stayed here for about three hours. We walked around the promenade deck and Angie was able to find an empty deck lounge and sat down to watch the glacier. She quickly needed a blanket as it was quite chilly out on deck.
The reason this area is called the College Fjords is because all of the glaciers are are named after colleges. As we got ready to leave this area, we decided to go grab lunch. We had lunch at the Lido buffet. The food was pretty good and they had all sorts of varieties of food.
Steve was not feeling well. The sinus cold was progressing into a nasty cough. The ship did not have any cough surprecents in any of their shops. The ship was sailing in pretty choppy seas. There were a lot of white caps on the ocean.
We dressed for dinner. Steve's dinner was not very good. The steak was cooked too well done. The vegetable was asparagus, but they brought it out with spinach. This was not listed on the menu. In addition, the boat was rocking a bit, so Steve really didn't have an appetite.
